date format for user variable
date format for user variable
Hi
I am having difficulty with the date format of a user variable that I've added
to a report.
I've created a user variable as a date range only format (not date time) and I
have the checkboxes for "Request From User" and "Allow User Values" checked on.
When I preview the report, I get two date input boxes (with associated calendar
controls) showing up OK. If I try to edit the dates in the textboxes for either
FromDate or ToDate, the resulting values are a little strange.
For example, when the report previews, both the FromDate and ToDate text input
boxes show 23.06.2014 as todays date. If I change 2014 to 2013 by changing the
4 to a 3, the result that gets displayed is 23.06.22031.
The date chooser control does seem to work just fine, but not typing text into
the date chooser text boxes.
All of the globalization settings that I am aware of are set to English-US
The designer I am using is Stimulsoft.Web 2014.1.1900 and the OS I have
is Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.
The Dot Net Framework version is 4.5.1.
I hope someone can help!
Thanks,
Carl

Re: date format for user variable
Hello.
There are five Designers available in Reports.Web product. Could you specify which one do you use?
Sorry, but we couldn't reproduce the issue. Could you send us a video where we could see the issue?
Thank you.

Re: date format for user variable
Hi Aleksey, Sorry for taking so long to respond.
It is Designer.fx that is being used. And I have attached a video of me trying to change the
FromDate variable from June 1, 2006 to June 1, 2014. In the video, I place my cursor in the
FromDate text box, delete the last two digits of the year (06) and try to enter 14. As soon as
I enter a 1, the year changes to 20120.
I hope this helps to track things down.

Hello.
Sorry but we couldn't reproduce your issue on the 2014.1.1900 build.
Could you send us a sample project which reproduces the issue for analysis?
Thank you.

Hi Aleksey,
You can use the attached project and sample database for testing.
I hope it helps.
Thanks,

Hello.
Sorry, but we still couldn't reproduce the issue.
Could you specify which browser do you use?
Flash Player version?
Can you reproduce your issue on our online Demo?
Thank you.

Re: date format for user variable
Thanks for the reply Aleksey.
The browser being used is Internet Explorer 10.0.9200.16921.
The Flash Player version is 14.0 for Windows.
And no, I could not reproduce the issue in your online demo, but that helps me
narrow things down a little. Actually I didn't know or see before that we could
design report reports with your online demo - thats a very handy thing to have!
