Which component should I use?

I am attempting to create a report that is divided into sections with alternating background colors. Each section has a row for the total of all items in that section, unless the section has one row. Here is an illustration of what I am trying to do:



I have tried to use component cross-tab but I haven't been able to figure out how to alternate the background color and hide the summery if only one row exists.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
