Request from user panel- part of string is visible in list

Hi,
I am using variable and request from user panel with string values shown in drop-down list. Problem is i can't make 'mask' in panel longer so i can't see whole string in list, just some fixed part of it..like 30 or so first characters, and i really need to see whole string since it is data from data column.
Here is what i mean in case i am not clear enough:

Unfortunately, it's impossible to change size of this component.
You could use Form with 'On Preview' Start Mode.

Well....form won't do me any good in this case. Thanks anyway. Btw. why are you so scanty with length of that component? Panel takes whole length of the screen anyway

There could be many variables. This free space for several columns of variables.
