Nesting Master Detail

Post by ringo »

Hi,

I have one report with the following master detail

Master 1
- Detail 1
- SubDetail 1

Master 2
- Detail 2
- Sub Detail 2

I have created data source for Master, Dateil and Sub Detail, then the relation for Detail (an id link to Master) and relation for SubDetail (an id link to Detail). However, when I generate the report, it doesn't display what I want. If I remove "SubDetail" section (by removing "SubDetail" relation and databand), then I'm able to get the simple Master-Detail report.

I really have no idea why the report doesn't work if I add back the "SubDetail" databand and relation.

Btw, the relationship are as below:

1) Detail.ID=Master.ID
2) SubDetail.ID=Detail.ID and SubDetail.ID2=Detail.ID2

However, I beleive it has something to do with the "SubDetail" relation because I realize that when the relation is added, even the simple Master-Detail report doesn't work anymore.

I hope if any of the expert out there can help me to solve this problem.

Many thanks in advance :-)
