Questions about ReportBuilder and Silverlight

Post by Freerk »

Hello,

I've got a few questions;
I read somewhere on your forum that you will be supporting Silverlight someday. Can you give me some information if that is correct, and when the Silverlight version is planned?
Right now we have a legacy win32 program written in Delphi which uses ReportBuilder. (our customers can view our reports and custom design their own reports)
We are now moving to the web (using Silverlight) and would like to use our old reports on the web (Flash/Silverlight doesn't matter). I see that your report definition is using XML, the one from ReportBuilder is quite different (Delphi dfm files). Do you support any other (report)formats besides your own? And is it possible to do a conversion from ReportBuilder to your format?

ps.
I've also send you an email but because I didn´t get any reaction I am posting my questions also on your forum.

Yes at this moment we work on Silverlight version of our report engine. It will be available at this Autumn.

We support only our own xml format of reports.

Sorry we can't help you with following conversion.

As i see you have send two messages to our support department. In both cases we have send you answer. May be our messages has been blocked with antispam filter. In some cases this happens.

Thank you.

Does this also include the Designer or it is only the Reportviewer?

Hello Freerk,

Standalone WPF Designer - yes, Silverlight Designer - no. We already have one. We don't have sense create other Designer.Web (with more complexity).

Thank you.

Hi,

Your web solution for adding a Web Report Designer capability is in Asp.Net and use Flash.
I would like to find an entire Silverlight based solution.
Do you have Web Report Designer in Silverlight ?

Thanks ;)

Hi Freerk,

No we do not have Silverlight version of the Web Based Designer, because we have a Flex based designer which can be launched from Silverlight based solution. And Silverlight based solution will also include appropriate report Engine to work with. Developing of that engine is in our to-do list and we are working on that engine at the moment.

Thank you.
