Multi-language Font Problem

Post by austinvc »

Hello,

I've been trying to create a report that will print foreign characters, specifically Asian characters, and I have not been able to get it to work.

I am using Arial Unicode MS as the font, and when I preview it with Web Preview the characters do not show up (see attached), and when I preview it with HTML Preview the characters do show up (see attached), but the HTML Preview is not formatted correctly, so I do not want to rely on that. When I download the report as a pdf the characters don't show, and when I print the report the characters do not show.

How can I fix this problem?

Thanks,
Austin

Hello, Austin.

Could you specify which version of our product you use?
Please, send us a sample report template that reproduces the issue.
We need to reproduce the issue to help you.

Thank you.

I am using version 16.1

Here is the sample report that reproduces the issue:

I have some other updates that I found from trying to fix the issue myself:
1. The asian characters show up if they are set as static text; the problem is only when the field with the asian characters is pulled from the SQL database I'm using.
2. I converted the SQL view to csv, and when using a csv file encoded with unicode as the data source, the asian characters do show up.

Hello.

The Web Preview is a limited preview base on our Flash component.
There are some limitations there. Which Viewer do you use?
Usually, the HTML export show the same report as you get in the Web Viewer.

If you still need our help. We need toe reproduce the issue on our side. Please, send sample data for your report template and the CSV file for analysis.

Thank you.

Thank you.
