Nested Json Data not available in normal designer?

Is there a reason that nested Json Data only seems to be able to import correctly in the Designer for JS, and not in the normal Designer? If I import the json in the designer for JS the hierarchy is translated correctly, if the same file is imported in the normal designer, only the first level of data is being translated into a table.
If I save the mrt from the Designer for JS I can then go on to work with the normal Designer for more complicated reports with the data structure that was desired, but this seems a very cumbersome way to do it...

Please clarify what do you mean about "normal designer" - WinForms designer or standalone JS designer?

Sorry for being unclear, I meant the 'Stimulsoft Reports.Net'-Designer Version 2016.2 from 1 October 2016 for the .Net Framework v4.0.30319
