Parent-child table combinations showing final child entry twice

Post by John »

Hallo Support,

I have a strange phenomenon for which I cannot find an explanation, despite extensive testing. I am using parent-child tables and am getting the problem that the final entry in each child table is being displayed twice, as in the screenshot here.
On the left, you see "PEK", which is the final parent entry for the left table. Then comes the final child entry, starting with "Pflegekostenversicherung...". This entry is then repeated for reasons unknown to me. As I have carefully checked all "Can Break" and "Keep Details Together" properties etc. and nothing makes a difference, I can only assume that something internally is not quite right.

Now the really strange thing: in screenshot #2 you see a part of the xml data file (in the zip attachment). If you set 1 then the first page of the report is displayed and you can see the problem as described above. If you then set 2, the second page of the report is then enabled and the problem disappears, everything works fine, although the databand and table definitions look exactly the same! The attached mrt is a simplification of the report I am using. I've reduced everything to a minimum to show the problem.

I'd be grateful for any help you can give me on this as we plan to go live with it at the end of the month.

Best regards,

John Kitching

Parent-child table combinations showing final child entry twice

Post by John »

Hallo Aleksey,

I've compared "Stimulsoft Reports.Net 2012.06.14 Trial" and "Stimulsoft Reports.Net 2012.06.08 Trial". With the older version I get the original problem. However, with the latest version I now have a different problem. The items in the child table are not displayed (see the screenshot) - the items in the parent table are all listed, as though it didn't know there is a child table. At the end of the parent table items, the final entry in the child table is then displayed.

Any idea what I can do?

Best regards,

John K.

Parent-child table combinations showing final child entry twice

Hello.

The difference of two pages is in the second Data Band. The Enabled property of the DataBand4 is set to False.

Now let's take you problem of report rendering. If you set some background colour of the DataBand1 then you'll see that all data is on this band. Because in the master-detailed report all data is rendered in one container.
Please, rebuild your report like in the attached report template.

Thank you.

Hallo Aleksey,

thanks for the reply and the example. When I look at the mrt I see a main databand with 2 panels on it and on each panel 2 shortened databands. This is the first time I have seen a databand which does not take up the whole width AND is on top of another component. I did not know this is possible and have absolutely no idea how you managed to achieve it in the designer. With a table I can do it by setting the IsDockable property to false but a databand does not have this property (at least I have never seen it).

Could you please explain how to place a databand on top of a panel / another databand.

Many thanks,

John K.
