Encoding error in report when running in browser

Post by lanfro »

Hi

There seems to be an encoding problem in reports when running it in the browser (Chrome Versjon 83.0.4103.97). The norwegian letters are shown as question marks in the report viewer. Attached a screenshot of the problem. We are using Stimulsoft version 2017.

Do you have any solutions to this problem?

Hello,

Most of the standard fonts does not contain national characters. In this case Windows uses the "font fallback". This algorithm is very complicated and, therefore, is not realized in the exports. To output national characters, please, use the font which contain all necessary characters. For example, the "Arial Unicode MS" font contains many national characters.

Let me know if this suggestion works for you?
Thank you.

I don´t think it is any problem with the font because it present the characters right when they comes from a database. The problem occurs when the text is written in a variable and passed to the report. It seams that there is some sort of transformation on the variable on the way to the report that fails.
