Bookmarks not working with Collapsed Groups

I have a report which has a group that collapses by Month e.g. August, September and October. Under the months there are groups by day of week e.g. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Under each day of week can be a number of records which have a date recorded against them. All groups are set to collapse. When I open my report all I can see is August, September and October each with a + sign to the left of the month. I can manually click the plus sign and it expands to show me the days of the week each with a plus sign to the left of the weekday. If I manually click the + sign to the left of the week day I can then see all of the records under that day. I have added bookmarks as described in the online help and they display correctly (see attached image). If I expand the bookmarks like they are in the attached image then select one of the dates nothing happens - I was expecting the collapsed group to expand and the applicable record be highlighted. If I set my report so that all of the groups are expanded when the report first renders then select one of the dates under bookmarks then the record is located and highlighted. Is there a way to select a bookmark which then automatically expands the group that the record is under?
