"Request from user" selection shows only in preview, an not in report view

I have a report with a string variable with "request from user" and "allow user values" options enabled.
When I generate the report in report preview (inside editor) the fields to the user write the text I want to retrieve appears and work, however when I try to generate report using the report viewer (that the actual user are going to use) it doesn't appear, and the "parameters" icon is not enabled.

Please show your code on how you load and show your report in the viewer.
